The latest edition of the Milan International Motorcycle Show confirmed the market trend of recent years.
There are many innovations presented in the touring and maxi enduro segment, thus enriching the choice for enthusiasts.

DUCATI DESERT X

The concept presented at EICMA 2019 had literally bewitched the fans of Dakar and the desert, recalling the epic deeds of the Cagiva Elefant, whose line is very reminiscent, so Ducati listened to its fans, the Desert X is finally reality.
The engine is the 110 HP Testastretta at 9,250 rpm and 92 Nm of which equips the Multistrada V2. In Ducati they have worked by changing the gear ratios to adapt it to more adventurous needs.
The fork is a Kayaba with a diameter of 46 mm and 230 mm of travel, while the single shock absorber, also Kayaba, has a travel of 220 mm, both front and rear suspension are fully adjustable.
The electronic equipment of the new Desert X includes in addition to cruise control and electronic shifting, six riding modes, Cornering ABS, traction control and anti-wheelie.

APRILIA TUAREG

The Tuareg 660 is certainly one of the most anticipated novelties of 2022.
Equipped with the 660 cc twin cylinder, already extensively tested on the Tuono and Rs 660, the engine has been adapted for off-road use and develops 80 hp, with a maximum torque of 70 Nm.
The chassis is based on a tubular steel frame equipped with a 43 mm fork and single shock absorber with progressive linkage, both with 240 mm of travel that expresses its best on rough terrain.
The very rich electronic equipment make it with a price of 11.900 € a worthy opponent of the Yamaha Tenere 700.

CF MOTO 800MT

Another important novelty from the Milan Show was the CF MOTO 800MT.
The Chinese maxi enduro should not be misleading, as its power unit is the same mounted on the KTM 790 Adventure.
In fact, CFMOTO produces the 799 cc engine of the Austrian motorcycles having a joint venture with the company from Mattighofen.
The power and torque values are in fact the same as the KTM: 95 HP and 77 Nm. In common they also maintain the slipper clutch, the ride by wire and the cornering ABS. Adjustable Kayaba suspension with 160 mm of travel at the front and 150 at the rear.
The price should be approximately € 9.000.

HUSQVARNA NORDEN 901

Like Ducati, the Norden 901, presented at Eicma in 2019, took a long time to come, but today it is available in dealerships.
The first maxi enduro of the Swedish company was built on the platform of its cousin Ktm 890 Adventure. In fact, it shares the 899 cc twin-cylinder engine with it.
The Husqvarna Norden 901 is equipped with WP APEX suspension with 43mm fork and 220mm of travel, making it less specialist than the Ktm 890 Adventure R.
The round headlight line recalls the glorious Ktm 950 and 990, but with significant updates and electronic equipment, such as the round LED headlight and the 5-inch tft.
Available from December 2021 at the base price of € 15.340

LUCKY EXPLORER PROJECT

LXP presents two novelties in the adventure world, the 5.5 and 9.5.
While the 5.5 takes a lot from the Benelli Trk 502, the 9.5 is a completely new project, and is the real novelty of the brand owned by MV Agusta.
The 9.5 is equipped with the famous three-cylinder MV which for the occasion was increased to 930 cc and provides 123 hp and 102 Nm of maximum torque.
The front wheel is 21 ”.
We note in the design many things in common with the historic Cagiva Elefant, in this case, the house of Schiranna and the house of Borgo Panigale are challenging each other with no holds barred, for which two-wheeler will be in charge of being the new Elefant.
The arrival date is unknown to date, arrival is not expected before 2023.

The engine is very similar to that of the Speed Triple 1200 RS, the twin cylinder of the Tiger develops 152 HP and 130 Nm, competing with the big Maxi Adventure like Bmw Gs, Ktm 1290, Multistrada V4, also for the very rich equipment of series.

MOTO MORINI X-CAPE

Could the Moto Morini X-Cape be the real antagonist of the super-sold Benelli Trk 502? The "entry-level" adventure of the Italian manufacturer certainly sports very interesting equipment and aesthetics.
The X-Cape's engine is a 650cc twin-cylinder that delivers 48PS, while the chassis features a fully adjustable 50mm fork, capable of 160mm of travel.
The Brembo-branded braking system guarantees excellent components, electronically enriched by a large 7-inch tft.
The Moto Morini, however, is devoid of riding mode, traction control, or ride by wire, in fact, only the ABS is in the list, which can be excluded from the left block.
As original equipment tires we find the excellent Pirelli Scorpion rally Str.
Price from 7290 €.

In your opinion, what is the most interesting news of 2022? Are there other two wheels that should fall into this ranking? Tell us yours!
